State Senator, District 9

🏛️ What the job does

District 9 is one of 31 seats in the Texas Senate, the upper chamber of the Legislature, which passes state laws and budgets with the House, confirms the governor's appointees, and tries impeachments. It covers part of Tarrant County, including Keller, North Richland Hills, Hurst and a large part of Fort Worth. Elected from a single-member district in a partisan race to a four-year term, with staggered terms and no term limit; vacancies are filled by a special election called by the governor. Next election: November 2026.
