🏛️ What the job does
A State Senator is one of 39 members of the Louisiana Senate, which writes state laws, enacts the state budget, and oversees state agencies. District 6 covers parts of East Baton Rouge, Livingston and St. Helena Parishes. One senator is elected from each single-member district for a four-year term, and the constitution limits legislators to three consecutive terms in the same house. Next election: October–November 2027.
