Precinct 2 Commissioner

🏛️ What the job does

One of four commissioners who, with the County Judge, make up the five-member Harris County Commissioners Court, which adopts the county budget, sets the county property tax rate and oversees county government. Each commissioner also oversees roads, parks and other infrastructure in their precinct. Precinct 2 covers east and southeast Harris County, including Pasadena, Baytown, Channelview, the Clear Lake area and the Houston Ship Channel, plus parts of north Houston. Elected by precinct voters to a four-year term in a partisan race; the seats are staggered. Next election: November 2026.
